Nouns ending in -ata (or -ate for plura), can mean just about anything exceptional in Italian, from the most brilliant thing (genialata) to the, well, not so brilliant thing (cavolata). What better way then to express the character of the newly established company other than calling it Italianate, thus stressing the oh-so true italian zest for creation, innovation and craftsmanship. In other words, Italians do it better. — Italianate is behind innovations such as SoapUp.
